Raising children with kind hearts, big dreams and full of talents
Early Learning Programs
The Shichida Method is a revolutionary program to facilitate early childhood learning. It cultivates children’s hearts and takes a balanced approach to developing the whole brain.
Aims of the Shichida Method
The Shichida Method will:
Deepen your child’s love of learning
Equip your child with confidence and life skills to learn and process information effectively
Stimulate your child’s creativity and imagination
Enhance your child’s photographic memory skills and critical thinking ability
Lay a strong foundation for numeracy and literacy skills
Improve your child’s level of concentration
Promote social interaction and personal development
Heighten your child’s senses so they become more intuitive, observant and physically perceptive
Develop both EQ and IQ
Enhance the bond between you and your child
Maximise your child’s potential
The Shichida Method employs proven early learning techniques which are well-balanced, age-specific and aim to maximise every child’s individual potential (cognitively, physically and socially).
We stimulate the whole brain to help bring out the best in children and engage them through activities that are fun and appealing.
Our vision is to “raise children with kind hearts, big dreams and full of talents.”
And it’s a vision that can only be achieved with the help of dedicated parents, whose bonds with their children will be strengthened and play a significant role throughout their child’s Shichida experience.
Parents and Shichida
We know that little children love their mummies and daddies more than anything so what better way to engage the hearts of children than to invite their parents into the classroom to play with them!
We encourage parents to get directly involved in the balanced development of their child and we provide additional coaching and parenting tips so that parents can easily incorporate whole-brain learning into their home and everyday lives.
As the Shichida philosophy goes, “‘when you can engage the hearts of the children, you can engage their minds’”.
Makoto Shichida emphasised the importance of parents’ love and acceptance of their child as they are and how this directly relates to the quality of the child’s ability to learn. Therefore the bond between parent and child is crucial and underpins the Shichida Method of Education.
Please Note: The Shichida Method of Education curriculum spans across 6 months to 9 years of age. However, the last entry point into the Shichida program is 4½ years old. The reason for this is that the curriculum for 4½ years old and beyond builds on the foundation that has been established from 6 months old to 4½ years old. Our students’ self-esteem is important to us. This is why it is imperative to start the program as early as possible.

What makes Shichida different from the rest?
Shichida is a world-renowned teaching method backed by more than 60 years of evolving research into early childhood brain development.
The curriculum is age-specific, tailored to children’s attention spans and brain capabilities. At Shichida Australia, we fill in the gaps left by traditional education systems to equip our students with well-rounded skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
The Shichida Method is unique in that it also teaches skills most often associated with the right brain such as empathy, creativity, intuition, imaging and photographic memory. With all the research behind us, we invite parents into the classroom to learn how to become their child’s first and best teacher.

Parents share their Shichida experience…
“My son joined Shichida when he was 5 years old. My husband and I are both very happy with his progress. Now my son is a happy, positive and confident child who loves and enjoys learning. After attending Shichida classes, we realised that the program not only benefits the child, but also teaches parents how to raise a child happily and successfully.”
– Miranda & Daniel (son, Shichida Graduate 2016)
“Thank you for the wonderful experiences that you have given Luke over the last 7 years at Shichida. The skills he has learnt through Shichida will last through his entire life. You have really helped and encouraged Luke to achieve such great things… Shichida has been such a huge part of our lives, we will really miss it.”
– Mark, Emily & Luke (son)
“I’ve noticed my daughter does remember things quite well, she can listen to songs only a few times and she remembers the tunes and the lyrics. She is one of the few kids in her class who can read at her age. Callum can count to 10. He sings the alphabet and he knows his colours and his shapes. He will sing along, it’s just play for him. There’s not that many programs out there for young kids, and you know why not? It doesn’t hurt them and they enjoy it. It does help them to develop to the best of their potential and their ability. They do an amazing amount of stuff in that one hour that I could not do at home with them.”
– Jane, Caitlyn (daughter) & Callum (son)
“Chloe has been attending Shichida Australia since she was 18 months old. I first heard about it on TV and thought it looked like an interesting program – mainly because it worked on skills like visualisation techniques, fine motor skills, confidence building and fun aspects of learning that didn’t seem to be offered in any other activities… This has really stimulated her learning, improved her concentration and helped her prepare for the transition to school. Shichida also gave us the tools to be able to incorporate opportunities for learning into everyday life – this has been incredibly helpful. The first time we realised that Chloe knew her numbers and letters was when my husband was out washing the car. He could hear her mumbling away and went to check up on her. She was just two at the time, and was reading our car’s licence plate!”
– Emily & Chloe (daughter)
