Welcome to Our Early Learning Centre in Glen Waverley
Established in 2020, our Glen Waverley early learning centre has 14 purpose-built classrooms at The Glen Shopping Centre. Children learn in small groups within a six-month age range, with fun learning activities that build on their skills as they progress through the program.
Baby Classes in Glen Waverley (6 to 12 months)
Share songs, sensory play, flashcards and simple learning games with your baby. Each activity offers opportunities to listen, look and respond, while you learn practical ways to support your baby’s development at home.
Toddler Classes in Glen Waverley (1 to 3 years)
Your toddler takes part in songs, games, flashcards and hands-on activities that build language, memory, early number skills and fine motor coordination. You join in alongside them, supporting their growing confidence as they try new activities and learn with other children.
Kinder Classes in Glen Waverley (3 to 5 years)
Your preschooler builds early reading and maths skills through activities involving letters, numbers, patterns and problem-solving. Memory games and creative challenges provide opportunities to think independently and grow in confidence. Children must begin Shichida before turning five to continue through the pre-primary and primary stages.
Kids Classes in Glen Waverley (5 to 9 years)
In pre-primary and primary classes, your child applies earlier learning to more challenging memory activities, speed reading, creative writing, mental maths and critical thinking. These stages continue the Shichida pathway for children who joined before their fifth birthday.

Our early learning classes bring together 20 to 25 activities in a carefully planned 50-minute session. Your child takes part in memory games, language and number activities, fine motor tasks and imaginative play, with skills revisited and extended over time.
You participate alongside your child, sharing their learning and gaining practical ideas to use at home. Teachers guide each activity in a supportive environment where children can try, practise and build confidence without needing to get everything right straight away.
Founded by Japanese educator Makoto Shichida in 1958, the Shichida Method has since reached families worldwide. More than 18,000 Australian families have attended Shichida classes since 2009.
Class Times, Fees and Open Hours
Shichida classes run Monday to Saturday during term time. Children are grouped in six-month age bands, so available times vary by age group. Enter your details to view current class options without committing to enrol. You can also share your child’s date of birth and preferred days with the Glen Waverley team, and they’ll help you find a suitable class. If your preferred class is full, you can join the waitlist.
Centre hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm, Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm. During term breaks, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Four 10-week terms a year. Two replacement classes included each term. No classes and no fees on public holidays. Re-enrolment happens in Week 7.

We’re on the ground floor at The Glen, near the lift lobby between Amplifon Audiology and Alter It, behind the Glen Superclinic. Head towards the Chemist Warehouse and TK Maxx end of the centre.
By car: The closest car park is via Snedden Drive off High Street. From B1, take the lift to the ground floor; the nearest lift lobby is the one for Glen Superclinic. Three hours free parking.
By train: Glen Waverley station is an eight-minute walk. Pedestrians can also come through the Yellow Car Park from Snedden Drive.

A trial class is $70 per child. Enrolling costs a one-off $100 life membership, then $700 per child for each 10-week term with GST included.

Yes. The Glen offers three hours of free parking. Enter via Snedden Drive off High Street for the closest parking. From B1, take the lift to the ground-floor Glen Superclinic lobby, near the Shichida centre.
New students can join from six months of age and must start before turning five. Children can then progress through the program, with pre-primary and primary stages continuing up to age nine.
Yes. Our classes are held at The Glen Shopping Centre in Glen Waverley, conveniently located for families from Wheelers Hill, Burwood East, Vermont South and Mount Waverley. Families from Chadstone, Oakleigh and Ashwood are also welcome.
Our baby classes combine sensory experiences with songs, flashcards and simple games. Your baby has opportunities to respond to sounds, textures and images while taking part in early language and memory activities alongside you.
Monday to Saturday in term time, with Saturdays currently full. Groups are built from children within six months of each other in age, so a fixed grid would place your child by whichever slot was free rather than by stage.
You can join during the term if there is a place in a suitable age group. Fees are adjusted to cover the remaining classes.
One parent or carer participates in classes from baby through to kinder, learning alongside their child and gaining ideas to use at home.
Saturday classes fill quickly, so ask the team about weekday availability. For children aged one to five, SHICHIDA at Home offers flexible learning at home through guided videos, printable workbooks and a song and flashcard library.
