Adrian’s Story: Building Memory, Confidence and a Love of Learning
Adrian began Shichida at just 6 months old. For his mother, Sherry, it was more than an educational decision. It was a meaningful experience they shared during an important stage of development.
“That time was so precious. I still miss it. It was such a special bonding experience,” she recalls.
Starting at just 6 months old gave Adrian the opportunity to grow during a stage many parents do not fully see.
Even before children can speak, they are constantly observing, absorbing, and forming connections. The songs, rhythm, flashcards, and interactions in class may seem simple on the surface, but they are quietly building the foundation for memory, focus, and learning ability.
For Adrian, this early start meant that by the time he began more structured learning like Chinese and music, he already had the ability to take in information quickly and respond with confidence.
Strong Memory Skills That Show in Everyday Learning
One of the most noticeable outcomes for Adrian has been his memory.
Through visual and auditory memory training, he developed the ability to absorb information quickly and recall it with ease. This has become especially valuable as he began learning Chinese and music from before the age of five.
Chinese characters can be challenging, but Adrian is able to read and write them with confidence. He picks them up quickly and retains what he learns.
Learning Music with Speed and Understanding
Adrian is also learning both piano and violin.
When he comes across a new or difficult piece, he often watches a video of someone playing it. From there, he is able to understand and reproduce it quickly. His strong visual and auditory memory allows him to process and apply what he sees and hears.
As Adrian shares, “Shichida trains my brain to go faster, especially with things like addition grids as I got older.”

Confidence, Kindness and Willingness to Try
What stands out most is not just his ability, but his attitude.
According to feedback from his school teachers, Adrian:
- Always gives things a go, even when unsure
- Works well with others in the class
- Shows kindness and empathy towards those around him
While Adrian is humble about his abilities, the results speak for themselves.
His strong memory, ability to learn quickly and confidence across subjects clearly set him apart
Continuing the Journey
Now in Grade 3, Adrian continues with Shichida because he genuinely enjoys the classes.
For Sherry, one of the most valuable aspects is being able to see her child learn and grow firsthand.
“This is the only place where you can truly be with your child while they learn. You do not get to experience that in childcare or school. I am so glad we started from 6 months old.”
