Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Let’s work together to keep our children safe from the virus
New South Wales
Term 3 Lastest Covid update for NSW
28th July 2021
Dear Shichida Sydney Parents,
I trust you are all keeping safe during this time.
We have missed seeing the children at the centres but have enjoyed seeing you all participate in livestream classes as well as our Shichida fun extra activities! Thank you parents for all your hard work and patience in ensuring your children are not missing out on such a valuable time of learning.
As per the latest news, the lockdown has been extended until August 28th. We are here to give you the best support during this difficult time, and we will continue to provide you with the following offerings:
- Shichida livestream classes on the same day/time (your instructor would have sent you the teams link)
- Pre-recorded classes
- Shichida Fun Extra Activities
- Free month of SAH (Shichida At Home) subscription
We encourage you to involve your children in the preparation of the class at home to make it more engaging and to also ensure that their routine and learning are not disrupted. Teachers have been sharing with me the wonderful and creative ways that you have been preparing for materials for each class, we encourage you to share your ideas on our Shichida Families page or on Instagram using the hashtag – #shichidaaustralia.
We would like to share with you some successful ideas that many parents and teachers have shared since last year:
Involve your child in the preparation of the class at home to give them a sense of control and excitement for the class
- Schedule their Shichida class in a visual timetable for the day at home – whether on the fridge or in their room
- Ask them to be your special ‘helper’ by assisting you with the printing of the worksheets and pre-cutting of the necessary materials
- Encourage them to find the fun toys they want to use for critical thinking games, sorting or counting
- Ask them to find their favourite pencils to use in the class
- Be patient and supportive; remember that they are still very young and may be experiencing some things for the first time
- Be present with them during the class, the Shichida program is about engaging the heart so that you can engage the mind; and that is not possible without your support
Thank you once again for your dedication to your child’s education during this unprecedented time. Please reach out to us via phone or email with any questions you may have.
Latest Lockdown News
17th August 2021
With the lockdown extension in Victoria, we will be continuing with our livestream mode of delivery until 2nd September 2021.
Our team is grateful to still have a connection with the children during the lockdowns. We can imagine how confused the children must be as to why they cannot go to their usual activities and we feel happy that we get to help them keep a sense of familiarity and routine during these times.
To those of you who have been attending all the classes, thank you for giving your children a headstart in their learning journey. We are glad to see most of you on board and wisely using the short window of opportunity that the children have during this part of their development.
Having said that, some of you may have been hesitant in giving the livestream classes a go. We hope that aside from at least giving the livestream classes a go, you will be giving your child a chance to try and show you how much they can achieve!
As teachers, we deeply care about the children’s education and we endeavour to make sure that they are also mentally healthy by providing them with interaction with their friends and myself; singing and dancing to songs that they are familiar with; playing activities that they love from home with yourselves etc. These are all integral social and life skills which I think makes livestream classes passive, ‘guilt-free’ screen time, especially in the perspective of your child’s long-term development.
It is during this challenging time, more than ever, that we remind ourselves as educators and parents, why we enrolled the children into this program in the first place. So many of you signed up for the priceless value our unique education can bring to your child’s life and the opportunity it gives you to be entirely involved in their learning journey, and even though the way that our classes have presented has changed, these core values remain the same. We are passionate more than ever to instil in your child a great foundation for their future.
Your teachers will be contacting you over the phone this week to give you some tips and tricks on how to navigate this to ensure that your child does not have too much of a gap to bridge when they are back in the centre. Please continue to share your child’s progress at home and the creative ways you have engaged them so we can continue to inspire other parents and support each other in our Shichida family facebook page.
Please note the pre-recorded videos (Baby 1 – Pre-Primary 6) are now available during lockdowns. We understand that it can be difficult to reschedule classes. In this instance, you are more than welcome to utilise the webinars as a rescheduled class instead of trying to fit another in around your busy schedules. Please let us know if you would like to use the webinar classes this way, and we can update our system to reflect this.

What makes Shichida different from the rest?
Shichida is a world-renowned teaching method backed by more than 60 years of evolving research into early childhood brain development.
The curriculum is age-specific, tailored to children’s attention spans and brain capabilities. At Shichida Australia, we fill in the gaps left by traditional education systems to equip our students with well-rounded skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
The Shichida Method is unique in that it also teaches skills most often associated with the right brain such as empathy, creativity, intuition, imaging and photographic memory. With all the research behind us, we invite parents into the classroom to learn how to become their child’s first and best teacher.

Parents share their Shichida early learning centre experience…
“My son joined Shichida when he was 5 years old. My husband and I are both very happy with his progress. Now my son is a happy, positive and confident child who loves and enjoys learning. After attending Shichida early learning classes, we realised that the program not only benefits the child, but also teaches parents how to raise a child happily and successfully.”
– Miranda & Daniel (son, Shichida Graduate 2016)
“Thank you for the wonderful experiences that you have given Luke over the last 7 years at Shichida. The skills he has learnt through Shichida will last through his entire life. You have really helped and encouraged Luke to achieve such great things… Shichida has been such a huge part of our lives, we will really miss it.”
– Mark, Emily & Luke (son)
“I’ve noticed my daughter does remember things quite well, she can listen to songs only a few times and she remembers the tunes and the lyrics. She is one of the few kids in her class who can read at her age. Callum can count to 10. He sings the alphabet and he knows his colours and his shapes. He will sing along, it’s just play for him. There’s not that many programs out there for young kids, and you know why not? It doesn’t hurt them and they enjoy it. It does help them to develop to the best of their potential and their ability. They do an amazing amount of stuff in that one hour that I could not do at home with them.”
– Jane, Caitlyn (daughter) & Callum (son)
“Chloe has been attending Shichida Australia since she was 18 months old. I first heard about it on TV and thought it looked like an interesting program – mainly because it worked on skills like visualisation techniques, fine motor skills, confidence building and fun aspects of learning that didn’t seem to be offered in any other activities. This has really stimulated her learning, improved her concentration and helped her prepare for the transition to school. Shichida also gave us the tools to be able to incorporate opportunities for learning into everyday life – this has been incredibly helpful. The first time we realised that Chloe knew her numbers and letters was when my husband was out washing the car. He could hear her mumbling away and went to check up on her. She was just two at the time, and was reading our car’s licence plate!”
– Emily & Chloe (daughter)
