Let’s work together to keep our children safe from the virus
Announcement for Term 4 2020: We Have Great News!
28th September 2020
Following yesterday’s announcement from the Premier of Victoria, we are excited to inform you that face-to-face classes will finally resume from Term 4 2020 Week 1, starting 12 October 2020.
The option to attend livestream classes will still be available. Virtual videos will still be available on the membership portal for all enrolled families in Term 4.
In addition, we would like to announce that from Term 4 2020, we will be offering livestream Shichida classes in Mandarin for children aged 0 to 4 years-old. Please indicate your interest with your respective centre administrator or centre manager.
A gentle reminder about the measures we will take at Shichida Australia to ensure a COVID-19 safe environment from the start of Term 4:
1. Until further easing of restrictions, there will be reduced class sizes to comply with social distancing protocols.
a) For classes where children are attending on their own, the class size will remain at a maximum of 6 children for the early years and 8 children for the Primary School Program.
b) For classes where children are attending with their parents, the class size will be a maximum of 3 or 4 children depending on the classroom.
i. There will be options for different timeslots to accommodate.
ii. For Saturday classes, the children will alternate between attending face-to-face and livestreaming each week.
2. Different classroom set up to comply with social distancing protocols
3. Temperature checks and hand sanitisation prior to entry on the premises; we will continue with what we were doing since January 2020 for everyone coming into the centre.
4. Face masks: We will require the use of face masks for all adults when in the centre.
a) However, please note: Per the guidelines given by the Government, it is not compulsory for educators to wear a face covering while teaching if it interferes with their ability to communicate clearly with students.
b) All instructors will wear a face-shield when in class and a face-mask once out of class.
5. In order to keep to the social distancing requirement, we ask that only 1 parent/carer comes into the centre with a child.
6. Face shields for children and instructors for use in class. All children will be given a face-shield of their own for the term and we encourage its use when in class.
7. Less ottomans: Due to social distancing rules, we will be placing less ottomans outside.
8. No cushions: Cushions will be removed for the baby classes for now and we ask that parents to bring their own mat/rug.
9. Cleaning/disinfecting process for materials and classroom after each session. In addition, Zoono (a broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection) is applied to every centre every 30 days.
10. Children will be asked to sanitise their hands after class.
We would like to congratulate all parents for the support and efforts given to your children during such demanding times.
Lastly, a big thank you to all parents who have conveyed your best wishes and encouragement to our team during this period. Each of your email and phone call was very much appreciated by our team!
We look forward to seeing you in person real soon!

What makes Shichida different from the rest?
Shichida is a world-renowned teaching method backed by more than 60 years of evolving research into early childhood brain development.
The curriculum is age-specific, tailored to children’s attention spans and brain capabilities. At Shichida Australia, we fill in the gaps left by traditional education systems to equip our students with well-rounded skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
The Shichida Method is unique in that it also teaches skills most often associated with the right brain such as empathy, creativity, intuition, imaging and photographic memory. With all the research behind us, we invite parents into the classroom to learn how to become their child’s first and best teacher.

Parents share their Shichida experience…
“My son joined Shichida when he was 5 years old. My husband and I are both very happy with his progress. Now my son is a happy, positive and confident child who loves and enjoys learning. After attending Shichida classes, we realised that the program not only benefits the child, but also teaches parents how to raise a child happily and successfully.”
– Miranda & Daniel (son, Shichida Graduate 2016)
“Thank you for the wonderful experiences that you have given Luke over the last 7 years at Shichida. The skills he has learnt through Shichida will last through his entire life. You have really helped and encouraged Luke to achieve such great things… Shichida has been such a huge part of our lives, we will really miss it.”
– Mark, Emily & Luke (son)
“I’ve noticed my daughter does remember things quite well, she can listen to songs only a few times and she remembers the tunes and the lyrics. She is one of the few kids in her class who can read at her age. Callum can count to 10. He sings the alphabet and he knows his colours and his shapes. He will sing along, it’s just play for him. There’s not that many programs out there for young kids, and you know why not? It doesn’t hurt them and they enjoy it. It does help them to develop to the best of their potential and their ability. They do an amazing amount of stuff in that one hour that I could not do at home with them.”
– Jane, Caitlyn (daughter) & Callum (son)
“Chloe has been attending Shichida Australia since she was 18 months old. I first heard about it on TV and thought it looked like an interesting program – mainly because it worked on skills like visualisation techniques, fine motor skills, confidence building and fun aspects of learning that didn’t seem to be offered in any other activities… This has really stimulated her learning, improved her concentration and helped her prepare for the transition to school. Shichida also gave us the tools to be able to incorporate opportunities for learning into everyday life – this has been incredibly helpful. The first time we realised that Chloe knew her numbers and letters was when my husband was out washing the car. He could hear her mumbling away and went to check up on her. She was just two at the time, and was reading our car’s licence plate!”
– Emily & Chloe (daughter)
